Mangaluru: Ganesh, a police personnel serving the CCB has been suspended by the City Police Commissioner T R Suresh for allegedly involving in a honey trapping case wherein a retired official has been fleeced of Rs 3 lakhs.

Investigations had revealed that the sim card with which a woman who was involved in the racket used to call the retired official belonged to Ganesh who had during interrogation revealed that he had parted with his sim card as he knew the woman.

Kavoor Police have already arrested six persons in this connection. The honey trapping incident is learnt to have taken place quite a few months ago on March 20, but came to light quite late.

Sources revealed that a woman was reportedly offering massage service to the official at a house at Maryhill when two men who entered the house, captured video footage of the two in nude and demanded Rs 3 lakh from the official who duly made the payment without any resistance.

Meanwhile, shockingly, investigations revealed that the cell phone number which the accused lady used to call the official belonged to Ganesh who was later served a notice and now stands suspended following a probe by ACP Rajendra who had submitted his report on October 22.
