Mangalore : Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an interactive meeting with Coastal Development Authority chairman B Nagaraj Shetty in order to discuss various upcoming developmental projects in coastal districts at KCCI on Saturday May 14.
Speaking the occasion, he said that sea erosion in coastal districts is a largest problem during rainy season and it will be solved as the proposal for a public-private partnership (PPP) project at the cost of Rs 800 crore by the state to central government.
When the project is released from the government then the seashores in Udupi, Mangalore and Uttara Kannada will be free from fear of sea erosion, he said.
He also said that the government is seriously considering the project like ‘Soubhagya Sanjeevini’, that proposes to link 13 out of 14 rivers in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to harness with excess water flowing into the sea during the monsoon.
Assuring about the new initiations, he said that the roads leading to Sakleshpur, Hassan and Mangalore will be improved under public private partnership, with the two day convention ‘Vision for 2050’ which will be held in Mangalore from September
