Mangaluru: Coastal Development Authority (CDA) has spent Rs 25 crore in last 21 months on various projects, said CDA President Nivedith Alva.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that CDA has spent money on footbridge, fish market, drainage, park and skywalks in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Utthara Kannada.
“Previously the government had allotted only Rs 1 crore for CDA, but in my tenure Rs 10 crore in 2015-16 and Rs 15 crore in 2016-17 has been aided by the government. I have personally visited the site before approving any project,” he said.
He further said that in 2015-16 Rs 10 crore was spent on 7 markets, 2 parks and one tourist place has been developed. In 2016-17 Rs 15 crore was spent on 73 footbridge, 7 fish markets, one skywalk, 2 parks, 3 drainages, 4 Anganvadi centre, one drinking water project and 2 hanging bridges were developed.
