New Delhi: The Central Cabinet meeting in capital on Wednesday has decided to impose a maximum fine of Rs.1crore, on any higher educational (college/institute) institution in India, seeking illegal donations, with a view to curb such obnoxious tendency in the field of education.
A bill has been approved to control educational corruption, by the ruling government (UPA). A provision has been made for punishment due to fallible educational institutions, that lure students by large advertisements to enroll, but do not provide adequate facilities like hostel, food and other day-to-day needs to the students.
The cabinet also approved 26% investment from foreign direct in vestors in national pension schemes. There is no guarantee of returning the minimum amount to FDIs, as the Government has rejected some recommendations made by a Parliamentary Committee.
Over 48 castes state in 20 states are added to OBC lists, giving those people reservation benefits.
Foodgrains and sugar will be packed in gunny bags to the extent of 90%: with a few exceptions, like 25 kg food grain bags, thus boosting gunny bag production.
