Konaje: “Atal Bihari Vajapey government implemented ‘sarva shikshana abhiyana’ and Next UPA government also continued it. But now Modi government is chanting 60-40 rule. It is necessary that central government also should provide fund for the development in educational sector,” said higher education Minister Basavraj Raya Reddy.
He was addressing the gathering after visiting Mudipu government PU College land which was approved recently.
“Rs 24.50 thousand crore are allotted for 412 government educational institutions. Only 50 colleges have permanent principals and there is lack of teachers also. Rs 20,000 crore is being spent on salary of teachers and rest is for other facilities. There is lack of fund for the development of infrastructure of the institutions,” he said.
He further said that he has informed regarding the problems facing for the construction of Mudipu PU College. Already Rs 2 crore has been sanctioned for the construction. The work will be end within a year.
“50% of the infrastructure cost will be paid by the education department, for rest of the fund I will talk to local MLA U T Khader,” he said.
