Mangalore: As many as 111 private medical institutions, not registered but deserving, are to be certified by DC Subodh Yadav soon.
An investigation committee had looked into all such cases within a time frame under law, and deserving registration as per its opinion, the DC who is also the presiding officer of an implementation committee, had agreed to give certificates to such medical institutions. This was revealed by him on Saturday in a meeting chaired by him at his office.
Another 70 institutions have been covered by issuing a notice but no reply has been received so far, health officials stated. The taluk medical officers drew the attention of DC to the prevailing problems over implementation. DC fixed May 3 as the last day for finalizing 500 cases in city.
4 institutions had closed down in Bantwal on receiving notice, local medical officers informed. Certain other units have asked for a change to be treated as medical centres. 106 were issued notices under Sn.22 of rules.
