Mangaluru : Unidentified miscreants riding a two-wheeler snatched two gold chains and a mangalsutra, together worth Rs. 4.8 lakh, from a woman in Mangaluru North police limits on Monday.

According to police, the complainant Shalini Bhat was talking to her friend near the Mukhya Prana temple at around 8.20 p.m. when three unknown persons riding a motorcycle sought to know the directions to Kudroli.

When Ms. Bhat was explaining the route, one of the riders snatched the chains and the mangalsutra and fled from the scene.

Mangaluru North police have registered a case and are investigating.
