Mangalore : Two chain snatchers got a good smashing by members of the general public at Rangapade near Neermarga on March 9, Saturday  after they were trapped red handed.

It was but for their bad luck that the bike in which they intended to escape after snatching the chain of one Sundari, skid and they fell on to the road. When the woman who lost her gold chain weighing seven sovereigns raised an alarm, locals gathered and thrashed them.

The duo are Mustafa (20) fro, Bantwal and Rafiq(26) of Belyady. Rafiq stayed in Mangalore.

Kankanady police registered a case and later handed over the gold chain to the woman.
