Bangalore : The Karnataka Cabinet has on January 31, Thursday decided to revoke the charges against journalist Naveen Soorinje who is arrested in the homestay attack case. This was informed by minister Suresh Kumar to reporters after the cabinet meeting.
Soorinje was arrested on November 7 and booked under the same clauses under which the other accused were booked. Even the lower court and the high court had denied bail to Soorinje. The home minister Ashok had however promised to drop charges against Naveen when he had met the journalists who were protesting in Bangalore seeking the release of Naveen.
Reports say Naveen is likely to be released soon.
