Mangalore : The South India Regional Council of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (SIRC of ICAI) of Mangalore branch unit celebrated chartered accountants day on July 1, Thursday.
Chief guest of the occasion, DK Deputy Commissioner V. Ponnuraj explained the important role played by chartered accountants (CAs) in the development of a particular companies or a firm.
Giving away the example of Satyam Company which collapsed due to failure in accountancy, he urged CAs to carefully exercise their work.

Guest of honour , Vinay Hegde, president and Chancellor of NITTE Institute said that CAs are the bridge between the company’s stake holders, institutions, and managements and the general public.
Giridhar Prabhu of Achal Industries said that students of CA must be given certificates only after five years of their practice.
CA Chandramohan K. Y. welcomed the gathering. S. Shrinivas Kamath, Murali Mohan, and other CAs were present on the occasion.
