Kasaragod: As many as 43 people who attended a marriage at Chengala gram Panchayat, on July 17 tested positive for COVID-19.

After they were tested positive district deputy collector doctor D Sajit Babu informed that any person who attends function should undergo home Quarantine compulsorily and inform the health officials if they show any symptoms of COVID-19.

The DC has directed police personnel to register a case which attracts two year imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine for the accused.

Legal action under Kerala Epidemic Diseases Ordinance 2020 will be taken against the person who held the wedding programme without observing Covid-19 regulations.
