Kundapur: Chethan (22) a youth of Moodugopady in Kundapur taluk was arrested finally for raping a girl of 17 from Vakwady and running away to Bangalore on his parents advice. The parents had questioned the character of the girl who went with him to Kollur and Manipal End Point and other places where she said to have been raped 3 times by Chethan on false promises of marring her later on.

The girl’s parents who came to know of their affair and her loss of virginity got frightened and took the girl Koteshwar Hospital in Kundapur where the doctors tested her for mental depression and sickness consequent upon the rape incidents and confirmed that she had indeed been raped. A doctor at the hospital contacted the police in Kundapur and a search began for the culprit.

The parents of Chethan advised Chethan to go to Bangalore, while disapproving his pre-marital relations with a minor girl of 17.

DySP C.B. Patil and his team led by CI P.M Divakar went after Chethan and arrested him before producing him in a court that ordered Chethen be remanded to 15 days judicial custody in Kundapur on Dec. 18.

The police are getting to the bottom of the case while registering a charge against Chethan and his false promises to marry the girl.
