Mangaluru: After taking charge as new Chief Whip of ruling party in state legislative council for the first time Ivan D’Souza arrived to Mangaluru and got splendid welcome from the party workers on Wednesday at district Congress office, Mangaluru.

Addressing the press conference Ivan D’Souza said that politics is one of the better ways to do something good for people.

“Wait and watch policy worked for me as I lost in 2008 elections, but I never lost my hope. I waited for the right moment to come and that moment has arrived. Emerging as ruling party in the next elections is my main motto,” he said.

He further said that CM Siddaramaiah backed me while some people opposed my selection as Chief Whip of ruling party. He thanked Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes, District In-Charge Minister Ramanatha Rai, and MLA Abhaychandra jain for their support.

Mayor Harinath, DK Congress Interim President Ibrahim Kodijaal, Ivan D’Souza’s better-half Dr Kavitha, Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, AC Vinayraj and others were present.
