Mangalore: An incident of child labour was held in the house of Custom Officer’s Apartment Heritage located near Barke Station on July 11, Monday.
The boy around age of 12 to 15 years named Bimalesh hailing from Bihar was doing the household work in the flat number 203 of Heritage Apartment belonging to AK Prasad, who is working as an officer in Custom Department, Panambur.
Dr Madhukar , ESI Shivabhag who conducted some test said that the boy may be aged around 12 to 15 years. Further the bone and teeth will be tested and X-Ray will be taken in Wenlock Hospital.
The Assistant labour commissioner who visited on the spot said that the boy will be handed over to Child Welfare Department, till the medical procedure is completed.
Speaking to the media, Bimalesh said that he is not doing the house work but goes to market to bring things. He also said that he was going to primary school in Bihar, and he want to study and become a police officer.
Bimalesh has no father and his mother and sister are living in Bihar.
Even after waiting for two long hours, A K Prasad had not reached home and his wife, who brought the boy for household work, opened the door after an hour.
