Mangalore : The school children of the Presidency School, located at Kelarai participated in the mass tree planting drive at the school premises to control global warming on July 14, Wednesday.
Around four hundred saplings were planted by the children with tagging their names to it, so that each children will check its growth with personal interest according to their identity, said Usha Rao, principal of the school.
Later the stage programme was organized by the school for the children to create awareness among the children to warn the bad effects of global warming.
Range Forest Officer Clifford Lobo briefed the importance of the trees in protecting the earth from global warming.
The students with green bows holding placards with the messages like, “It pays to be Green”, “Save the earth, plant a tree’ were displayed.
