Mangalore: The Children’s day annual festival was celebrated at the children’s Park in Kadri under the auspices of DK District administration state children’s Welfare department DK Zilla Panchayat , Childlike and monthly festival of children’s rights (Masotsava) on November 14 Thursday.
J.N. Subhramanya a children’s court judge in DK, inaugurated the festival.
Speeking on the occasion he stated that parents and elders looking after their children at home had failed to do justice to the children in their infancy and childhood up to the age of 16 years. As a result a lot of children of minors were coming to the children’s court with one complaint or the other for redressal . He asked parents and elders of all children to put them to school for proper education and growth, so that these children did not become rogues in the long run. He said the state had several scheme up the sleeves for protection and improvement of children’s conduct, during their years of growth from 5 to 15. These schemes should be properly utilize by the elders or the parents to bring up their children on right lines.
DC of DK District N.Prakash inaugurated the monthly festival of children while Asha Nayak of child’s welfare departments spoke about the schemes meant for the children.
Moses Jayashekar and G. Vegas were present on the occasion, attended by hundreds of city children along with their parents or elders.
