Mangalore: A singing, acting, story-telling session in Kannada, to mark the 50th programmed of such collective activity to save and develop Kannada, by Dakshina Kannada district children’s Literary Forum, is arranged at Sharada Vidyalaya in Kodialbail in city-heart as on Dec 31, the last day of 2011, at 10 AM.
Resource person Savitri S. Rao, briefing Press on Dec 28, here, indicated that the programme aims to Kindle and maintain Kannada pride among children, through songs and story-telling.
It helps easy learning in a natural environment, full of enthusiasm, she explained. The work improves their skills, memory power, reading habits and instills moral values too, Mr. Rao told pressmen.
The sessions will be of 90 to 120 minutes duration. The children enjoy action and expression, with their talents in acting or singing in full bloom. Their personality develops fast.
Prof. M.B. Puranik will preside, Harikrishna Punarooru is the chief guest and Pradeep K. Kalkura will attend the programme.
