Moodabidri: 84 year old Sunderlal Bahuguna, a towering leader of “Chipko” (Appiko) movement to save forests and trees in India was in Soans’ farm in Moodabidri on Tuesday to pat 77 year (old) youngman Dr.L.C.Soans on his back for the visit in the shade of Trees grown profusely by the  ‘Man of Trees’ Soans on a large area in Bannadka.
Dr.Sunderlal Bahuguna, Padma Vibhushana, was pleased to write his feelings in a visitors’ book that he bowed to God for giving trees, fresh air and water provided to human beings on earth.
Sipping plain pineapple juice along with his wife, and tasting pieces of the fruit, Bahuguna felt very happy to be in the farm where Dr.Soans was doing a miraculous job with his trees bearing fruits, flowers and medicinal materials.
Sundarlal and wife Vimla Bahuguna saw the gigantic Burmese bamboo bushes in the Soans farm (plantations) where bamboo shoots grew a foot more daily. They told Soans family that the Soans were actually growing happiness and contentment in their wonderful plantations.
