Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi’s son, Ram Charan Teja got engaged to Apollo Chairman Pratap Reddy’s granddaughter, Upasana Kamineni at a high-profile event in Hyderabad this evening. Big names from the world of cinema, politics, industry and glamour attended the grand event. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, several union ministers and state ministers were also present.
Ram Charan, an actor like his father, is the star of hit movies such as Magadheera (2009). He is currently working in Rachaa. Upasana currently heads the Charity and Wellness divisions of the Apollo group.
A separate party to celebrate the occasion with Chiranjeevi’s fans is planned for a later date.
Both the families performed a special pooja yesterday at the temple in the premises of the Jubilee Hills Apollo Hospitals, as is the tradition of the Kamineni Family. Upasana also performed a special pooja at her Domakonda ancestral home as per tradition.
A popular event management company from Delhi has been hired to take care of the preparations at the ceremony and exotic flowers have been especially flown in from Thailand for tonight’s celebrations.
A specially designed invitation card along with a barcoded car pass and a state-of-the art access card to facilitate entry of guests, has been sent out.
