Bangalore: A Christian delegation led by NRI entrepreneur and President of International Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations’ (IFKCA), Ronald Colaco, met Chief Minister, Jagadish Shettar recently and drew his attention towards the longstanding demand for formation of a Christian Development Board on the lines of Minority Development Board, Banjara Board or SC/ST Board, instead of the present Christian Development Council (CDC)The delegation also pointed out to the CM that the CDC has remained a toothless body which lacks basic amenities and facilities. The delegation also requested the CM to enhance grants to the CDC from the present Rs 50 crores to Rs 100 crores.
The Chief Minister responded positively stating that he would study the matter and take appropriate action within a short period.
The delegation comprised of Fr. Peter Brank, Director Karnataka Regional Organisation for Social Services (KROSS), Fr. Mari Joseph, Secretary, (Karnataka Regional Catholic Bishop’s Council Youth Commission (KRCBC YCom), Antony Mendonca KAS, Vasantha Gudi, BasannaShettar and Manjunath.
