Oman: Christian brethren residing in Oman celebrated Nativity of Mary with great fervor at the St Anthony of Padua Church in Sohar, Oman on September 12, Wednesday.
Bishop of Gulbarga, Fr Robert Miranda was the main celebrant for the High Mass and he was assisted by Ghala parish priest, Fr. Albert D’Silva and visiting priest from Mangalore, Fr. Charles Saldanha.
The programmes began with a Rosary at the Church grotto. Children of Sohar parish showered flowers on the statue of Mother Mary followed by a mass.
Fr Robert Miranda spoke on the importance of celebrating Nativity of Mary. The Konkani choir led by Franky Monis and group rendered Konkani hymns.
There was even a cake cutting ceremony and corn was distributed to all the participants who later relished a traditional vegetarian meal of the Nativity of Mary Feast.
