Mangalore: A Christian deligation led by NRI Ronald Colaco of IFKCA, met the new CM, D.V.Sadananda Gowda on Aug 24, with Dr.V.S.Acharya present on the occasion. The delegation presented a memorandum on behalf of Christian minority groups, seeking fulsome development of the state and certain of a harmonious climate.
They asked for the constitution of a Christian Development Board, with a chairman and 12 members appointed, to represent various demonstrations of Christian a public. 5months have passed, they said, since allotting Rs.50crores for community’s development.
The leaders also wanted a withdrawal of cases hoisted against Christian youths involved in Church attacks of 2008.
Colaco told the CM that IFKCA followed up Christian welfare issues for 2 years now, on several earlier occasions with past CM (Yeddyurappa). Gowda responded suitably, saying a Board will be constituted as requested. There were 18 members in Colaco deligation.
