Udupi: An aesthetically constructed edifice that is Udupi district Administration Complex for 45 departments was dedicated to the public at Land’s End overlooking a river in a corner of Manipal (Manna Polla) on the holy Christmas Day, Dec 25, Sunday, a holiday for many.
Local MP state MLC and chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the complex by unveiling a plaque and promised to serve the people so as to lose their confidence reposed in him, which raided him to the present status of top leader of BJP in state. He reminded that former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on this date 87 years ago and that Gowda had taken his blessings in New Delhi at his retirement residence recently. He sanctioned 50 additional posts to the Udupi administration. The Old taluk office in town would be converted into a mini-Vidhana Soudha, with quarters of employees, spending Rs. 1.80 crores. New vehicles will be provided to the departments. He released 1/3rd of cost on a bridge on Rajatadri (Complex) to Kolalagiri to cut the distance for people coming from Kundapur/Brahmavar.
