Mangalore : It is time for celebrating Christmas as an annual feature of birth of Jesus in who’s name, the Christian people seek divine help for redemption from since and feeling of ecstasy in the depth of their souls.
A last minute shopping by families to purchase Christmas cakes and Kushwar, trinkets to decorate the Christmas tree at home and new dresses in busy markets has begun in the afternoon and coming to close on Dec. 23 and 24. There are night parties arranged with Band music in front of the houses, clubs or parishes in many parts of Mangalore such as Bejai, Bendoorwel, Kankanady, Hampankatta, Falnir and Pandeshwar.
Christians shop keepers around Hampankatta , Balmatta and Falnir are having a busy day trying to satisfy their customers in carrying the festival gifts and food items for next days feast at noon.
Jesus was born in manger at mid night and 3 kings from Asia arrived to see him as the son of God and brought with them a number of gifts for the divine child. This is now represented by a red and white dress of Santaclaus, who moves about in colonies of families producing gifts out of his magic bag for children of the locality.
In churches the prayers and singing of carols to greet the birth of Jesus as Christ and the King of Jews is on since Tuesday morning in the presence of large crowds of devotees who wait for him to come again to the earth to get rid of poverty and stay happy in and around the churches of Mangalore.
There are lights every were at night, colourful and blinking, dlad and dashing around cathedrals like Rosario, Churches like Milagres and Parrishes of Bendoor and Bejai the whole night people will remain awake looking for a baby known as Jesus, Son God for Marry as the Mother .
The holly mid night mass at st. Piters in Rom and Vatican City is held here at an early hour at 8pm due to safety reasons for the families to celebrate Christmas at their homes, as they like it.
However in cloisters as in Kankanady the prayers for Jesus Marry and God will continue all through the Dec.24 night.
