Mangalore : Inaugurating Kannada Chutuku Sahitya Sammelan and Kannada Limericks Conference Pro. Ganesh Rao founder President of Karavali Group of College Institutions in Mangalore held at Mangaladevi temple hall on Saturday Nov.23, stated that he was happy to inaugurate such a literary conference in which poets of short lines and homour added to those poems return in sensitive ways. He admitted that he had read a lot many Chutuku padya (short poems) and Tamashe Hadu(limericks) whenever he had time to read them and enjoy their content.
He praised the poets who wrote such small line of poems in good homour and pin-pointedness . He added that he would love to read them more and more from as many poets as possible such as Dhundi Raj, H. Kannan, C. Sulibele and others to educate himself as also his students.
Health Minister U T Khader, who was a Chief Guest on the occasion, spoke about the beauty and treatment of Chutuku Sahitya and Rasakavithe (limericks) which are the short form of a normally long poem that poets usually express, such as D.R. Bendre, K V Puttappa and many others.
Khader added that reading such poems or reciting them in public was like tonic given to a patient to recover his health the contents of Chutuku and Rasakavithe are healthy to the human brain and one who has not been a writer like him would be tempted to write a few li8nes whenever possible by inspiration to writer.
A number of Chutuku and Rasakavithe writers participated in a Kavitha Goshti (Poetry session).
Prof. NG Patavardhan, Prof B V Arthikaje, Vi.Ga. Naik, Ratna Halappa Gowda, Nemu Poojari and others were present.
