Mangaluru : The CID on Thursday questioned Akhila Bharata Hindu Mahasabha State president Pranavananda Swami, his car driver and Satish, a native of Kerala, in connection with the killing of Kannada writer M M Kalburgi.
The CID team, led by SP D C Rajappa, detained Pranavananda Swami from Sharanabasaveshwara Mutt at Are Mallapur in the taluk on Thursday and questioned him at the Police Sabha Bhavana at Sriramnagar in the town. The police also summoned the seer’s car driver and Satish, to Sabha Bhavana for questioning in connection with murder of the former vice-chancellor of Hampi Kannada University.
Superintendent of Police N Shashikumar told, “The CID police have questioned Pranavananda Swami in connection with the murder of M M Kalburgi. The seer has not been arrested.”
