Mangaluru: A CISF soldier died after a huge iron gate fell on him at New Mangalore Port entrance on Thursday.

Eshwar Naik (54) of Puttur is the deceased soldier. He was deputed to NMPT entrance security.

After completing his duty hours he went to close the gates as usual, but the gate was too old and due to corrosion it fell on him.

As the incident happened all of a sudden Eshwar Naik couldn’t escape from the place.

Panambur police have registered a case.
