Mangalore: City Hospital Research and Diagnostic Centre, one of the renowned health care facilities of Mangalore will be celebrating its silver jubilee on November 6. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M Veerappa Moily, will inaugurate the silver jubilee celebrations.
N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, will preside over the function. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP and Jayaprakash Hegde, MPs and Yogish Bhat, Deputy Speaker will be the chief guests.
This was informed by K Bhasker Shetty, Chairman of the Hospital, at a press meet in Mangalore on November 6, Tuesday. He said the hospital founded in 1987 started with 60 beds and emerged a 200 bed multi-speciality hospital within a span of four years. He said the hospital aims at providing total health care to the public at affordable cost
Dr Shetty is assisted by his four sons – Dr Rohan Shetty, a neurosurgeon, Dr Roshan Shetty, Laparascopic Surgeon, Dr Kiran Shetty, an intensivist and Dr Kishan Shetty an Anastheologist.
The Hospital is equipped with state-of-the art healthcare facilities and diagnostic equipment. The City Hospital Charitable Trust formed in 1989 also started city institute of Nursing and then City College of Physiotherapy offering BPT and MPT courses
