Mangalore: A mock drill has been conducted by Mangalore city police on a rainy Thursday, to test the readiness and response (time) needed to counter – act against terror attack situations, should they occur in future here.
The drill took place in Thokkottu, Surathkal, and Mangalore City which are taken to do sensitive areas on the west coast. People were scared and ran about in panic, but were assured that it was a training event and a mock drill at that.
Police confirmed that such exercises were necessary for police officials to find out how quickly they could arrive on the scene of any terror attack to protect unarmed locals.
15 “terrorist teams” trying to break into city and terrorize with weapons, like AF 47 rifles, were quickly “rounded up” in this mock drill, when Thokkottu was having a 5-hour road blockade to fill up pot-holes in the area by surface. Transport maintenance authorities.
