Mangaluru : City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal has issued an order suspending H S Bhajantri, the Inspector of Kankanady Police Station for supporting sand smuggling and for neglecting the instructions of higher-ups to take action against illegal sand extraction.

It is learnt ACP Dhanya Nayak had instructed Bhajantri to raid an illegal sand extraction site at Kadekaru in Jeppinamogaru. However the inspector had failed to follow the instructions.

Following this ACP Dhanya Nayak had submitted a report mentioning that the Inspector also did not behave courteously with those visiting station, had colluded with sand mafia and failed to heed to instructions of higher-ups. Even local residents had complained against the behavior of the Inspector.
