Mangalore : The city police have nabbed two lorry thieves and have seized the property worth Rs. 60 lakh from them on Feb 22 Wednesday.
The arrested are identified as Naveen Noronha (36) and Dhananjay (25) from their residence at Kulshekar in Mangalore.
Speaking on the occasion, Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that around 8 people are involved in this theft and other than these two are absconding.
These accused used to dismantle the stolen Lorries which did not install GPS, re-assemble them with other parts, colour, fix old registration plates, and re-sell them. The accused also used to change the engine numbers, he said.
The police have confiscated four Lorries, a body of a tipper, six new tires, four jockeys, three discs, 5.5 tons of iron rods, a Swift Dezier, a Matiz, a bullet, and a kinetic from the accused.
