Mangaluru: The City police led by DCP (Law) Hanumantharaya conducted  a surprise raid to the district prison morning  6.30 am and 7.30 am on Tuesday.

Total 129 police personnel take part in operation and seized two mobile phones, ganja and pen drive among other things in the raid.

Three sharp items, two plastic bottles of hukka shape, mobile charger, extension cord and wires have also been seized.

Police said this was a routine raid and more raids will be conducted every now then to stop the unauthorized and illegal items reaching inmates.
