Mangalore : The city, service and express bus fares are up by 10 to 15 per cent from August 20 onwards. This was informed by Rajavarma Ballal, President to the Karnataka State Bus Operators Federation and S Sadanand Chatra, Vice President.
They said the revision has been made in accordance to new directive of the Karnataka government. Though we have the permission to hike by 20 to 25 per cent we are rising the prices only by 10 to 15 per cent he added.
As per the decision the minimum fare for city buses would be Rs 7, The Mangalore-Udupi bus fare will be Rs 55 from the existing Rs 50, The Udupi Kundapur fare would be Rs 38 (present fare is Rs 34).
The fares for the rest of the routes will be announced shortly.
