Mangaluru: “Sauharda Christmas is to be celebrated share the greetings of Christmas and to create harmony and brotherhood in the society on December 22 at Kankanady market ground,” said Chief Whip of government in legislative council Ivan D’Souza.
Addressing the press personnel on Wednesday at his office in MCC, he said that former union minister Oscar Fernandes will be inaugurating the celebrations. Political leaders, leaders of various religions will take part in Sauharda Christmas.
“Demonetisation has affected the mood of celebration. People are not being able to buy anything. Since past 42 days, PM Narendra Modi has imposed 42 rules in the country. Common man is the one who is affected by demonetisation,” he said.
He further said that there should not have been any restrictions to spend hard earned money in the name of curbing black money. How can street vendors survive if cashless system is implemented? Those who are protesting against demonetisation then they will be labelled as black money holders.
“Demonetisation is totally unscientific and the rules must be eased to withdraw money from our own bank account,” he urged.
