Mangalore : KMC Mangalore organized a cleanliness drive ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in front of the hospital accepting the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a mass cleanliness drive ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in the city on October 2.
As part of campaign, Doctors, nurses and the hospital staff joined the drive followed by a ‘cleanliness oath’ administered by the head of department and professor of department of urology Dr Laxman Prabhu.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Laxman Prabhu said that most of the organizations have responded to the call given by the PM Narendra Modi.
Dr Rajeshwari, Medical superintendent of Wenlock hospital said that, PM is working towards making Gandhiji’s dream of keeping environment clean come true. Hence the institution has decided to join the drive ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ to mark the Gandhi Jayanti celebration. The staffs of Wenlock started to clean our own hospital since Cleanliness starts from home.
Dr Bharat Shetty, secretary BJP Yuva Morcha said that, Prime Minster Narendra Modi have given a call for a ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ on the 146th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi from October where a scheme of Rs 60,000 Crore have been sanctioned by the Central government to keep the country clean.
As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Bajrangadal members organised a cleanliness drive at Mangalore sub jail premises . MP Nalink Kumar Kateel, and other organisations take part on Mangalore central Railway station cleaning drive.
