Mangalore: A ‘Sagar Kavach’ operation was carried out all over the coastal region of the country on Wednesday, by coastal security forces to test the preparedness and alertness in protecting state’s coastal belt.
The operational action started in the early hours of the day at 6Am to continue till 6 Pm around sunset.
Although the coastal and national security was involved in such a programme, coastal residents had to bear inconvenience, as it was carried on in heavy traffic areas, and common people had a harrowing experience.
Coastal security police, guards, navy, and other police personal were part if the May 3-4 operation of 2 days.
The show involves some dummy terrorists, and a search for them. There is a mock drill to find the disguised terrorists by police. Failure to catch the thief exposed the hollowness of the activity.
The police disallowed tinted windows on cars, as there is a ban on such tinted glass vehicles.
