Clash in Billava Community general body meeting, police use lathi

Narayana Guru College Mangalore : The difference of opinion in the two groups of Billava Community made a way to argument and clash during the general body meeting held at Sri Narayan Guru College on Feb 21, Tuesday.

Reportedly, it is said that Brahmashri Narayana Guru established the Kudroli Temple on Feb 20 and yesterday it completed 100 years and celebrating its centenary celebrations. Hence the general body meeting must have taken place before the Feb 20 and inviting all the members of Billava Community, but they have organized after that and not even informed other group members and around 130 members were present. When the situation heated up the members outside pelted stone to the window pane and police officials had to use their lathi.

Narayana Guru College Addressing the crowd gathered in the college campus, B Shankar Poojary said that they have tried to contact all the members to conduct the meeting, but it was not possible to do. There were some misunderstanding in the community members and it will be solved and within three months another meeting will be called he said.

The members of other groups who gathered at the ground of college while meeting taking place of one groups said that if the Union president Naveenchandra Suvarna has to call the meeting within three months and till then the committee will be dissolved.
