Ahmednagar : Thirteen students of standard 7 allegedly thrashed their classmate which led to his death after a few days. 13-year-old Kiran Sonawane suffered internal head injuries on June 25 and June 26 during recess period when his classmates allegedly thrashed him. On June 26 they repeatedly banged his head against a wall. This lead to Kiran’s death on July 1. The incident happened at Nutan Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Rajapur, six km from Sangamner.
13 students have been booked by the Sangamner city police under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code on a complaint lodged by Kiran’s mother on Tuesday.
According to police, on June 26, the victim attended the classes after the incident and went home. He narrated the whole incident to his mother. After dinner, he fell ill and started vomiting. He was rushed to the hospital in Nashik where he was operated upon. But he died after four days.
Kiran’s mother has alleged that the accused boys always picked a fight with her son. Though earlier incidents were brought to the notice of the teachers by the victim earlier, no action was taken by the school authorities, alleged victim’s mother.
Police officers are investigating the matter and trying to ascertain what exactly happened on June 25 and June 26 that led to the tragic death of Kiran.
