Venur: The Alva’s Education Foundation Sunday adopted Hosangady village that won a state-level recognition for cleanliness with a view to maintain its exemplary clean surroundings, make local people self-dependent and free the award-inning village of Hosangady from evil habits (smoking, liquor drinking, gambling etc..) and for complete removal of plastic materials. All these activities will be taken up with resourceful co-operation of Alva’s institutions, as announced by Mohan Alva, founder.
He was presiding over the valedictory function of a community camp in the premises of Hosangady Friends’ Club. The camp was organized by Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, BSW Forum and Hosangady-Badakodi Cleanliness Committee among others.
Students who collected maximum plastic materials for disposal/removal were honoured on the on the occasion. Social worker Hariprasad of Model Housing Project was also honoured by Friends’ Club.The over all 2011 award, Alva’s Reach, was bagged by BSW Dept. of Karkala Bhuvanendra College.
Alva’s College, Moodabidri Principal, Prof Kurien delivered the valedictory address.
