Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada is stepping up towards open toilet free district, said ZP Educational and health Standing Committee President Shahul Hameed.
He was speaking after distributing round worm tablets to the students of Balmata government school, on Wednesday.
“Cleanliness plays a great role in eradication of round worm. The government has decided to distribute the round worm tablets through the teachers as the impact of teachers is more on students,” he said.
ZP CEO P I Sreevidya said that keeping students’ future in mind the government is distributing the tablets.
“Anganavadi workers, Asha workers and others also will distribute the tablets to every home. This year the tablets will be distributed to non-aided schools also. There is no side effect from the tablet,” she said.
Women and Children developmental department Assistant Director Sundara Poojary, Principal Usha, DK Health Officer Dr Ramakrishna Rao and others were present.
