Mangalore: Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has assured to reconsider the case of Vittal Malekudiya, a tribal student who has been arrested on charges of Naxal links.
Speaking to reports in Mangalore on May 22, Tuesday, the Chief Minister said the officials concerned would be directed to recheck details pertaining to this case.
The CM also said that a committee would be formed to study the problems in the Naxal hit areas and on finding job opportunities for youth in such areas.
Gowda further announced a compensation of Rs one lakh on behalf of the state government for the families of the passengers killed in the Bangalore-Hubli train mishap in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
Though queries regarding former CM Yeddyurappa were raised, Gowda refused to comment.
