Bangalore: CM is on warpath again, facing state Governor Bhardwaj who had shot out a letter to President of India seeking the dismissal of BJP govt in Karnataka and then refusing to hold the budget (summer) session of the Vidhana Sabha on Monday (May 16). Presently, he has served an ultimatum virtually, fixing the date for convening the Assembly as on June 2 (a new date) and seeking Governors approval to this matter by Thursday (May 19) evening. He has threatened to plunge into a new agitation all over the state with BJP activists if the Governor failed to signal his approval by this evening. Only on Wednesday, CM and Governor shook hands after they had fought each other over the recommendation of dismissal of BJP Govt, by Hans Raj.
The CM so to say, ordered the state Governor that by this evening, new should reach him from Raj Bhawan that an approval had been given for the next legislature session (re-fixed as on June 2). So the brief bonhomie (courtesy meeting) of Wednesday between the two after raging political war had terminated by a fresh demand by CM.
He made it clear that he would embark on a state wide tour in an open jeep addressing road side rallies to build up public opinion for BJP on Friday. He had already requested the Governor in a delegation led by him (CM) on May 18, with a view to pass the full budget, to allow the session on June2.
Governor Bhardwaj had answered him (CM) then that he was waiting for Center’s reply to his recommendation seeking the dismissal of a corrupt BJP govt. He had asked CM to wait for a day or two, on the issue of budget session.
CM Yeddyurappa lashed out at Dr. G Parameshwar (Congress, Planning a Dharna on MG Road) and JDS chief HD Devegowda for their propaganda of trying to exert pressure on the Governor against BJP rule. He blamed the Congress as main opposition, for its tendency to topple the elected Govt, in its 4th year of rule. He added that the Congress had no capacity to face the people now with its losses in 3 by-polls.
