Bangalore: When the Supreme Court gets discontented with a state government, the party which rules in the state should enquire into the matter and report back to the SC, promising clean and improved administration, otherwise it (the state govt) has no place to stand on.
Like Egypt, people can not wait for 30 years and bring in a Governor’s or military rule. When democracy is being hacked to pieces, there is no point in carrying on with a rule of people’s representatives who think they are superior to Judiciary in democracy and can get away, with embezzlement of funds and denotify lands acquired by state only to feed the politicians in power.
The present Karnataka govt. ruled by BJP in the name of CM Yeddyurappa is in unenviable condition of being hated by the Supreme Court and the Judiciary in general, and its own High Command which seeks and awaits for its ouster, to form a better govt., next.
On Friday last, CM had dashed to Delhi when the High Command was under pressure to relieve him of his duties, when he was so close to present a fresh Budget (on 24 Feb), for 2011-12 as FM.
It appears he had convinced the higher ups in the Union Capital on Asoka Road, that state’s finances have never been stronger than now under him and there would be no new taxes in the coming financial year, and also that no Opposition Party or leaders can displace him in 2 years when he completes a full term.
If he continues, he does so only under a cloud of suspicion, and as a tainted leader, never to return once he was deposed.
So, Yeddy is being asked to resign in Delhi circles where Advani’s voice is heard attentively. But Yeddy knows Ananthkumar’s dirty past records, and would not fear him, nor the BJP chief who is his old chum in Shimoga.
Who else is there who can ask him to go, and goes away thereafter? None! – So he is bound to rule and present annual budgets, as presently.
