Bangalore: CM Yeddyurappa has no power to allot BDA sites to any of the members of team India that defeated Sri Lanka in Mumbai on April 2, yet he made an announcement offering 50×80 ft BDA sites 30 miles away from Bangalore to the Team only for political mileage or publicity for himself, political sources said here. CM knows that he cannot allot BDA sites to anyone like that, it is clearly understood by BDA.
A Higher Court order given earlier has clarified this fact and position about CM. High Court issued the order in the case of Kumar Bangarappa from former CM Bangarappa’s ruling days as CM. Yeddyurappa also cannot gift any BDA site to anybody. The announcement of CM illegal, said Vasudeva, a lawyer. Any other gift could be made by CM, he added, in view of patriotic feelings.
