Mangalore : Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the New Hall of Mangalore Press Club located at Ladyhill Urva Market Road on Feb 12, Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the new hall is not only released for the media, but for the district since the information for the district is being disseminated from the same venue.
He also said that the state government has sanctioned the fund of Rs 25 lakh to establish a Press Club in every district. He also said that the amount of Rs 12.5 lakhs is being given to the Press Club and if the state sanctions more budgets, then he would be happy to give.
Today Mangalore is the fast growing city and popularly known in the state. Media is doing excellent work in exposing the injustice and bringing change in the state, he said.
He also said that State has given more facilities to the media to encourage their works through awards and other facilities, he added.
Deputy Speaker N.Yogish Bhat, MLA K .Abhayachandra Jain, MLA U.T.Khadar, MLA B.Ramanantha Rai, Mayor Praveen, ZP President Shailaja Bhat, Belur Gopalkrishna and other were present on the dais.
