Udupi : Chief Minister of Karnataka D. V. Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the district-level Vishwakarma Sammelana hosted by Vishwakarma Okkuta held as part of its silver jubilee celebrations on Feb 5 Sunday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, CM Gowda said that it is happy to see the Vishwakarma community which has developed in the state. He said that the community must identify their value and utilize the governmental benefits offered to them.
The members of the community presented a silver plaque called Rajatodbhava comprising his face in it.
Swami Kalahastendra Saraswati of Anegundi Mutt in Katpady and Swami Gurushiva Sujnanamurthi of Aremadanahalli Mutt of Hassan delivered the benedictory speech on the occasion.
BJP State President K. S. Eshwarappa, DK District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar, State Labour and Silk minister N. Bacche Gowda, Congress State President Dr. G. Parameshwar, MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Honorary President of DK Vishwakarma Sabha P. L. Shubhakar Acharya, Vishwakarma Okkoota President Alevoor Yogish Acharya, and others were present on the dais.
