Udupi: With Yeddyurappa turning his back on Udupi by-poll campaign as he hates DVS Gowda its ex-MP and present CM, it was left to Eshwarappa and Sadananda to enter the campaign rounds to seek votes in Udupi and Chikkamagalur district to repeat BJP success there in a by election on March 18.
Gowda addressed a meeting in Hosmar Village on Monday in Karkala, the home constituency of ex-CM, M. Veerappa Moily, who is a central minister now.
CM Gowda addressed a number of rural meetings and visited temples in the district to ensure BJP triumph in the by-poll.
He spoke to taxi-drivers and autorickshaw runners, tellings them of what congress did not do in 55 years of its rule, in Udupi.
He referred to the Guarantee of service to citizens ‘Act now introduced in 4 districts on a pilot basis and to be extended on April 2 all over the state making people the overlords of their elected representatives.
Roods in rural areas are upgraded and re-laid. Rs 10crores was released in each Assembly (4) area in Udupi.
A NH-66 will be widened on Suratkal –Kundapur stretch CM informed.
Some local Congressmen joined BJP on those occasions of CM’s tour.
