Gadag : even though there is no over whelming reason why the present cabinet of 26 ministers should be expanded again to take in controversial and non-working MLAs as ministers, the theme is recurring in public meetings and press club gatherings, as if all state development depended on Cabinet expansion to the brim, to fill up another 7 posts.
The CM Devaragunda Sadananda Gowda stated here (Gadag) on a state visit that certain important developments relating to Karnataka were getting delayed on account of Anna Hazare’s fasting in Delhi since a week, at Ramlila grounds against black money, disproportionate incomes, and corruption at large.
He called this “Anna effect”. He said on Bellary Reddys, only high command had to decide, on their return to state cabinet. However, nothing has been conveyed to the state on several matters refers to Delhi bosses, he added.
Gowda is searching for someone to take charge of Gadag district. But the mine owners have come in to the scene and no expansion of the ministry is possible, as everyone was watching Hazare, and BJP was agitating for a new Lokpal, the CM informed reporters who were anxious about cabinet expansion time and again.
