Bangalore: Temporarily, CM Yeddyurappa appears to have succeeded to hold on to his chair although he is on the floor, as an influential group is helping him to get into the saddle with a renewed outlook in politics, not being selfish and greedy, but concentrating on good governance and taking development works to their completion.
The almost tumble from his unchallenged leadership to a piteous fall and hanging by a thread to save his future, seems to have had a beneficial effect on him. While state MLAs are with him, the Central Leaders are not with him and the Bellary Ministers were plotting for his fall, blessed by Sushma, their godmother.
But then, the Delhi leaders had their hands full with Congress / UPA corrupt deals in Mumbai / Delhi and elsewhere and they could not catch two balls at a time. Arun Jaiteley did come to Bangalore waiting for CM and warning him of serious consequences if he did not reform himself, when Jaiteley met CM on Monday (Nov. 22).
He (J) demanded to know if CM would resign by Monday evening, as Nitin Gadkari was to decide on CM’s future by Monday night. CM went to Saibaba to save himself and travelled by PM’s special plane from Puttaparthi (where PM was present by a chance) to New Delhi, running from pillar to post to seek refuge. Finally, a month’s period has been given to him to reconsider his path and rededicate himself to the people of Karnataka.
Whereas Arun was critical against CM, Nitin is likely to give, CM a longer rope to hang himself, or get out.
