Hubli: Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar got a rousing reception at his hometown Hubli where he arrived on Sunday for the first time after taking over as Chief Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said he would strive his level best to work towards the development of north Karnataka region which is backward in educational, economic and business front. He also promised to live upto the expectations of the people.
He said he could rise to the post with the support of party higher ups, former CM Yeddyurappa, State BJP Chief Eshwarappa, Ananthkumar and erstwhile CM Sadananda Gowda.
MP Prahlad Joshi, Ministers Basavaraj Bommai, CM Udasi and others were present.
The chief minister, his wife Shilpa and other BJP leaders were taken in an open motorcade from the airport to his residence at Keshwapura.
